Just read a report on a dyno run of the new supercharged H2R Kawasaki "race" bike on Ride Apart. According to them, the engine is a modified version of the H2 triple 2 stroke engine! Well, you live and learn!! 😄

I didn't read up on it but they were discussing it on the Honda Supersport forum a few days ago, must be impressive if they were discussing it

Those H2's were terrifying things! Huge power band and very strange handling. Fast though!

Oh dear. You need to keep up chaps. The new H2 and H2R are not directly related to the triples with the exception of the tank badges. The current H2 and H2R are four cylinder, four stroke engines mounted in a modern mono shock frame. The original H2 was a three cylinder two stroke in a dual shock swinging arm frame. Then of course you have to take account of the supercharger on the R version. Otherwise they are the same I guess.

I lost track of modern bikes when they gave up on carburetors. I did see a stunning little KTM 390cc single street bike the other day that got me thinking but thats the first new bike I've got wood for since the Ducati Pantah 500 first came out.

Actually I think I saw they were made in India.
