exile: The power outlet is connected to a live wire with a fuse in a terminal block under the seat, as soon as the plug is inserted the unit is powered- up.

That may be the easiest solution Leon. And simple enough to do. I can feel a trip to the spares shop coming on... Thanks for the idea.

I should have asked Leon, what fuse did you use? 1,5 amp?

I got a very nice man a 74 bmw r75/6 and in return my bullet will be getting new everythings!

Exile: Mine has a 15A fuse. A fuse is not really needed for a SAt/Nav, but you never know, one day I might need to plug in a coffee pot or use the cigarette lighter for a cigar.
