Hi all ,read the sad news last week that the iconic race track Mallory Park in Leicestershire has gone into adminisration , apparently due to the breaking of local noise regulations. I personally have fond memories of the track , having been a regular spectator there from the mid 60's. The sights and sounds of legendary riders like Mike Hailwood , Phil Read , Giacomo Agostini , Bill Ivy , all on full works machinery and later in the 70's the Transatlantic Trophy Races ,will forever be embedded in my mind. A great shame that a great track may no longer be with us , and end of an era....

A sad loss to the motorcycling racing world

I agree Roy, it's a great shame. I watched several "Race of the Years" there as a teenager and raced there quite a lot myself in the seventies (before they messed it up with those silly chicanes!). I have fond memories of ear'oling around Gerrards - including once on my arse! I'm sure many like us will mourn its passing.
