Hello Fellas, the shows seem to be over and it's still nice biking weather so if you live in Kent and want a ride out somewhere why not visit the Norman Day at The Windmill, Hythe Road Ashford. Lots of Normans to see and you can go around the Windmill and afterwards have a nice cup of tea etc in the cafe. The Windmill is about half a minute from Junction 10 of the M20 going back towards Ashford Town, and the entrance is about 50 yards past the garage on the right. The show starts at 10am and finishes mid afternoon.

Norman Day
Willesborough Windmill, Mill Lane, Hythe Road,
Ashford, Kent. TN24 0QG.Sump Ref: JD/VA
This is the second event this year hosted by the Norman Club (the other is on 19th May). Once again, it's a regular (and often dashing) display of Norman motorcycles, mopeds & cycles. Riders of other marques, however, will be welcome to attend and will find out what makes the Norman motorcycle such a popular and well-loved machine. Coffee, cakes, and bacon sandwiches will be on offer, plus a guided windmill tour and small regalia & spares stands. If you're not familiar with these bikes, you could be pleasantly surprised with what you discover. There are some real gems in this club, plus a lot of old boys happy to dispense advice and knowledge.
Open: 10.00am, and finishes when it finishes (usually mid-afternoon).
Admission: Free

And here I was thinking this was some sort of historical society with normans and other sword swinging blokes with armour and chain mail and William the bloody conqueror...

Do I feel like a prat now...??

Thanks for your posting Geoffro. Four of us from Kent REOC went along. Good little show, (never knew Norman made cycles & tricycles too). Also a real treat to be shown round the restored windmill. Don't know if we met you or not but met one of my neibours from our tiny village who it turns out is a Norman trials bike owner. REgards Mick.
