Hi guys---------- well, the inevitable has happened and my No.1 Bullet (Indian home market)has started to make noises like a GRUNDA Super-Diesel on steroids !!ie.. the big-eng is about to say}-- SAYONARA !! So my good mate TIM has given me the indefinite loan of his 1970's 350cc BSA B40 Ex-WD model....whilst I dig deep and contribute to Mr.H's holiday fund once more !!!------------BEESABRYAN, that's No.1 skulking under the wrapper behind the B40................................................Image-----------------------------------

Sorry to here of your troubles but there is nowt wrong with a WD B40. .... Pal of ours shipped one from North Carolina for the 2008 BSAOC Isle of Man International. ... Did the rally, toured UK for a couple of weeks before taking it back home. ... Still going strong. ... I am hoping to get to ride it in September when he comes to visit us at our home from home in SW Pennsylvania :)

Hi guys------- Here's the tech. details as published by the Army(EMER's)}-------------- http://www.bsawdb40.com/Technical-Information --------------------- I've had it for just on a week now and, true to old brit bike style, it leaks oil !!..BUT, it is due a full overhaul soon so that will be taken care of !! Meantime I have a cloth tucked into the bungees' on the rear of the seat....I think that this particular machine has a different set of gears in the box as there is a HUMONGOUS gap between 3rd and 4th......more so than the Classic 500 has with a 4-speed box fitted......It's physically smaller than our 350/500 Classic Bullets and with these HEIDENAU tyres fitted, very maneuverable as well due in part to its' much lesser weight...( The frame is a spin-off from the competition ones)...This one is missing the fully enclosed chain cases.....The engine is a free-revving little beast with power to cruise continuously at 50-55 on main roads giving approx 65-70 mpg..... 12v electrics with "proper" bright lights at all times....The original carb.( from a stationary engine) has been replaced with an AMAL Mk1 Concentric so starting is VERY easy and assured !!!! --------------------------------- This is the ideal "Go to work" AND "Week-end ride" machine (if compared to its' civilian counterpart) but not for 2-up though.. I'd replace the dual seat with a solo one and have a rear rack fitted.......... I'd have a Bullet for a 500 and the B40 for a 350...........
