due to lousy weather i,ve been billeted to the shed this weekend where as usual i have performed many minor miracles ,firstly i have made the smallest field spike side stand in the world for the diesel rigid as when off the centre stand ,the bike is now lower rendering the standard affair useless ,welder to the rescue ,then i made another rear rack for the helectra ,welder again, followed by fitting the diesel bikes shockers and ditching the rear gas fangled jobbiies on the electra ,then i addressed the clutch caper (slipping on start up compression )well sorted slightly ,then it was time to address the tappet rattle ,since fitting my tappet adjuster door minus valve lifter arm the bloody bobin on the cam follower has been rattleing so off it jolly well came set up pushrods for good measure ,now hey presto no rattle ,then came time to set up the cam gear back lash great things these excentric spindles job done in a jiffy not reported in correct order obviously ,then the over oiling drive chain via crankcase breather ,stroke of genius here (unless you no different )routed the pipe via a duckbill into the timing chest orifice ,then ran the longest highest pipe in the world from the oil tank breather also with duck bill on to the drive chain i will wait with baited breat to see if this is improvement or not, then to fit my stainless steel lifting handle to the electra (surplus from the rigid ) then to top all these procedings i fitted a new roadrider avon tyre to the front end of the electra ,not bad to fit infact SUPERB ,ive only had it since the new year show at newark ,the old avon roadrunner has come to rest in the dustbin, anyway bikes all sorted still small flurries of snow (in fekin march!) atb paul oh by the way the fratelis have been on the cd player followed by deep purple frank zappa beetles sex pistols motorhead led zeppelin to name but a few happy days!

Yep, I've been hiding in the workshop too (apart from the odd trip to feed the sheep,) working on the Connie project (failed to re-fit swinging arm due to inner sleeve being too corroded to fit to nice new bushes,) and stripping the Interceptor crankcases to put in the engineering company's hot washer tomorrow. While I was at it I found some of the studs for the crankcase from my NOS supplies. Also made a list of sundry bits required from Mr H, swing arm sleeve, camshaft bushes etc etc. Must make some progress on the 55 Bullet too! REgards, Mark

"Brace yourself now, Rodney"--------- I've been fettlin' with my latest "toy"----------a 1971 Honda PF50 Graduate !! ....Ta-da !!!..........although made in Belgium AND over 40 years old, Honda's original quality build is still in there---- This is to replace a similar AMIGO model which has a 2-stroke engine (Currently on E-Bay if you're interested ??)...... The lads and myself were going for a Breakfast at Quatt this morning but thought it better to get some work done instead........
