fellow Enfield owners.i recently bought a 1994 Enfield 350 de-luxe.it's been off the road since 1998,having covered only 2,200 miles!are they that bad?the bike is a runner,but waiting for some good weather before i get it out on the road.

hi pomps welcome to the group the best way to find out if your bike is good or bad is to ride it your bike is 15 year old so even though its got low mileage its obviously not done a lot of work so the condition of the machine will be down to how its been stored during periods of non use atb paul.

Good luck with the bike both mine are grand bus some have not done many a mile but do like to be used. But first would check the cork oil feed seal as this would have dried and needs to be replaced with a new one. our hosts have the part 140145.

Good advice re the cork feed plug. I just had mine (1993 350) apart and the seal was indeed old and cracked. It had a similar history to yours in that it had done bugger all miles before it had a nasty front end prang that consigned it to being a parts bike for the next fifteen or so years before I resurrected it. I suggest a clean out of the oil tank as there was a lot of grunge that had collected in there. If your 94 is anything like my 93 the finish of the castings will be woeful also the finish of the welding on the frame looks like the drunk guy who did it only picked up an arc welder for the first time that day. It goes a treat though and many hours of fettling and a repaint looks a treat. Good luck with it, they are excellent fun.

Hi guys----------and a BIG HELLO to POMPS }----------- won't the later bonded neoprene type replace that cork ??------- Also strongly recommend the use of ATF oil in the primary drive and the forks --- easy to do and MUCH BETTER riding obtained... As the lads have testified, these bikes are both a pain in the ---e AND a great deal of FUN !!!! I'm on my third now having returned to the fold 'cos I missed the old girl !!!!! ( Wife's still wiv me --- make of that what you will !!!!))

Yes, the neoprene seal will fit - it means replacing the worm nut but worth it I would think for £6
