Looks like the old Honda CB400T Dream. Something doesn't look right about it though (Tank and engine cover). Is it the automatic engine?

I've just acquired a 1980 Honda 250N Superdream, it needs some TLC but I'm always up for a project! Your Honda looks lovely.

Hi BERTIE, ----- I've not long sold one of those myself (including the maroon colour). Yes BARRY Q, it's the CB400A Hondamatic. That's the cover over the torque converter you've correctly spotted....I'm currently re-building its' stable-mate, a 1975 CB750A Hondamatic. It's a most unusual feeling riding these--- much like a 2-stroke inasmuch that you shut the throttle , the sound drops away, but you still continue at the same speed.... Definitely need good brakes as there is no engine retarding....Incidentally. they don't have an override clutch like the big DUCATI's have so it's quite possible when changing from High ratio to Low ratio to lock the converter and hence the rear wheel !!! And on a heavy 750 at 60 mph that's quite scary !!!!! Hop-skip, hop-skip, etc. So what's the PUB like then ?????

Yes your right it's a CB400A, although I'm glad I've never experienced the rear wheel locking up. I Bought it as a winter hack, but its in such good nick, only 12k from new that it doesn't go out in the winter. And I'm a Citroen driver (same thing really I suppose) ..
