As I see it the first link is the lighting regs original regs. The second document is an ammendment to the Statutory Instrument (note year date) but only in respect of the lighting for pedal cycles. Hey don't shoot

When I get aound to putting some tools and dut tape in the side panels for breakdown I was thinking of adding the cycle LED lights that I have. Just for emergency use. A swell as spare bike bulbs I guess!

I used a Old rear lamp of a Yamaha RD250 I had in the shed because has two stop & tail lamp bulbs inside it which I replaced with LED stop & tail bulbs its so bright you cant miss it. Coupled with the new improved front Headlamp Lens & Philips night vision bulb from Hitchcocks plus super bright white LEDS in the side lights & Pilot Light I would say the bike matches and modern bike for lighting Plus I can see the road now when travelling down unlit country lanes. As most my riding is done at night or in the dark hours being a shift worker it was important to be seen easy after too many near misses as I use the bike every day all year round.
