Alan that is most generous of you to offer to buy us all a Christmas present eac. Now I know that it could get expensive for you, but I for one am not greedy so there is no need to buy me a nice new Enfield (as I don't actually own one as you well know), but a new pair of boots and gloves would be gratefully received. Thanks again for your kind and generous offer. I guess you have asked the question this early so that you can get everything ordered and delivered by Santa. You really are one kind and thoughtful man. I will now go and pull out that cork as I think I am in dire need of a drink......don't you?

Hey Alan - I couldn't believe it the other day, there's a pub between Hull and Beverley called the Whorton Arms and outside was a huge sign saying 'Book now for Christmas', it's still September for gowd's sake! Anyway as you're offering a table there for Chrissie dinner will do fine thanks.
