Duraglit was my favourite on the old Bullet, but it is difficult to get perfection and even then the first wet ride will leave more spots to polish out. My EFI arrived almost looking like it was chromed, but it soon lost this perfect shine with a little weather. Oxidation is the enemy of aluminium, but at the same time, the fine oxide layer actually is its own protection. Polish, then a good wax and finish with a polishing mop. Can you chrome plate Aluminium? I like my bike clean, but a little used looking, like me.

After usinng autosol and polishing off with a cloth, use a crumpled up newspaper for a perfect finish.

Phil, Belgom Alu is excellent ,if rather expensive, akin to using a magic wand on alloy.

In the 70's I remember that there were briefly two Autosols the one we have today and a product branded Solvol Autosol which was considerably better. I remember it particularly because of the profoundly different result it got on a 650 Benelli I was fettling at the time. Perhaps it was made under license?
