Hi Everyone,

I have a motogadget classic tachometer that I want to connect to my RE GT 535. I note that the original OEM tacho has two inputs that come from the crank sensor. Neither of these will connect to the Motogadget gauge which only requires one input.

The motogadget manual states this:

leads to the ignition coil, terminal 1
(switched ground of ignition unit)
In case of a CDI ignition, please use the
motogadget ignition signal sensor (order no.
9000001)

Where should I connect the gauge to on the ignition?

Thanks.

The wiring diagram (as per the Haynes manual) shows two wires coming from the ECU that go to the Coil, they are White/Red and Orange.

In reality, on my bike, there is a White/Green wire and Red/White wire on the ECU side of the connector (near the coil) and White/Red wire and Brown wire (may be very dark orange) on the coil side of the connector.

The Red/White - Brown is the constant positive, shown as the Orange wire on the diagram. The White/Green - White/Red is the ignition switched wire. Use this wire to connect to the tachometer rpm input.
