Spark plug cap

I've just ordered a NKG BPR6EIX Iridium plug for my 2018 Classic 500.
The Hitchcock's catalogue recommends that these are best used with a spark plug cap WITHOUT a resistor.
Is the standard cap fitted to the bike WITH or WITHOUT a resistor?
There is a silver metal cap in the catalogue ( part 500905) that I have seen used in a video with iridium plug but confusingly, in the catalogue it is describrd as being WITH resistor. Is this an error?

Can't help with the cap fitted to your bike
But I have read recently that NGK now recomend using both resister plug and cap
Sorry if I have confused you further

From the factory the bike comes with a 5k ohms resistor plug cap and a resistor plug.
The OEM cap also has a metal shield, no idea why?
Your chosen plug has a 5k ohm built in and will work fine when paired with a resistor cap.

After contacting Hitchcocks I can confirm that NGK have informed them that the standard plug cap fitted to the bike is compatible with the iridium plug.

Given that we now have much improved ignitions compared with 60 or 40 years ago I suspect it makes next to no difference on the present models. For older ignition types, I think I'd still use non-resistor plug caps with R plugs or vice versa.
