That was the relocation of the original swinging arm I was referring to, and the to be honest the thing looks really naff, the angle of the shock absorbers seems all wrong. Simply fitting a slimmer set of mudguards front and rear and a less clunky seat would have done, but that's the bobber cult. To his credit the owner mentions that he has kept all the original parts to put it back to standard, some wisdom there still.
You could always buy a second hand Indian Bullet swinging arm and get some extended axle mounting plates welded on (keeping the lower shock absorber mounts where they are) if Interceptor-style swinging arm lengthening is a must, or investigate singleminded's suggestion of finding a donor swinging arm off a totally different bike.
What you could even do is track down an Interceptor frame and swinging arm, or late Redditch Bullet/Constellation/Super Meteor frame and Interceptor swinging arm, the Indian Bullet engine and gearbox will bolt straight in with the correct parts. Something with a V5C will save registration hassles.
