650 interceptor sidestand problem?

I have an orange crush (995 mi) the bike is leaning over more and more as it is used . The stand appears adequate, but the pin appears to be allowing the stand to flop up and down, Soft frame lug? Soft pin? Anybody run into this ? The bike has a switch on the sidestand that cuts the ignition if placed in gear with the stand down. Why not a locking stand then? That would help when parking downhill!
