Attaching royal enfield badge to timing cover 350 1957 Bullet

Hi All,
I acquired a new RE badge from the site as my old RE badge was looking a little tired and worn. On removing the old one I found it was glued on and has been on for about 10 years. The attaching holes were OK one side but for the other the attaching rivet or screw was broken off inside the hole in the timing cover. The relevant hole is also slightly butchered. I am reluctant to drill out in case I damage the timing cover by going straight through and feel no option but to attach one side properly and glue badge for security. Could someone suggest what type of glue to use for longevity given where the badge is situated I would presumably need something which was heat resistant? Cheers, Hugh

Have a look at Selleys Quick Fix Shockproof and heat-resistant glue. Should be good for 100 years.

Doesn't seem to be available in the UK, Leon!

You might find Sikaflex -291 does the job.
