Hey Jack - If you look on this site under 'Technical Notes' - see options on the left - and check out 'Tuning and using Mikarb' you may find a solution to your problem. If not DON'T use force, post again on this thread and we'll try to help. Lots of us know the Mikarb inside out.

perhaps i shouldn't have used the term force then, maybe a tap with a punch would push it through, possibly it's only got some gum on it.
Jack.

Hey Jack, if you've already unscrewed the main jet, and secured the washer, the pilot jet should be removable from the other end of the carb without a problem. No force - just pursuation! Nothing should stop its removal, but if it's a tight fit just be very gentle with a soft drift.

---------might I just add to that " ensuring that it is perfectly vertical". I have 2 of these delightful little rascal carbs.---on one the needle jet just drops out, on the other it requires just a little gentle help.

Hey guys, solved the problem,it did only require a push to help it along. And i fixed the persistent flat, stall spot while taking off from the lights.Fitted a P2 needle jet in place of the O8 and float level 23mm instead of 25mm.
No hesitation at all now.I'd replaced the 25 pilot with a 27.5 then 30,they helped but she'd still die unexpectedly at the lights unless throttle as eased in very slowly, not something i enjoyed.
So all's well in Bulletland.
