C5 engine removal

Hi All, Ive lost 4th gear so need to strip the engine.
Has anyone removed the engine from a C5, ive removed all the ancillary bits but I don't see how the engine drops out as the lower frame seems to be in the way. I've left the head and barrel on as well as the side covers. Do i need to remove these first.
