The wiring used on these old bikes is starting to deteriorate, having just had a bit of trouble with mine, a 1998 model. After examining the wiring close to the engine area, and finding the insulation getting a bit stiff and crispy in places, and a bit of bodging carried out by the previous owner here and there. I have decided to change the lot and fit a complete new loom, purely for reliability's sake.
