Remove timing cover/ undo the nut in the center of the mag sprocket/keep unscrewing as this acts as a jackscrew against the end of the maneto armature shaft, and pulls the sprocket off the taper.....

Hi, the self extractor are on A/R sprockets. If you have a manual advance ,the sprocket should have a internal thread for an extractor. Alternatively give the sprocket a light tap with a hammer it may come off depending how tight the tapered fit is! Vince

Thanks Vince

Yes that is what the sprocket looks like. By any chance do you know what the sprocket's internal thread is as I've tapped and used a puller without effect. Geoff

Hi, I think the extractor is the same as that for a bullet, if I can find my spare sprocket I'll check. Vince. Ps did you give the puller a thwack to shock the taper?

Eventually had to make a tool to release the sprocket. Internal thread of the sprocket is 5/8 BSC if anybody is interested. Mag away for repair.
Thanks for those who replied. Geoff
