The Crusader frame is a slightly smaller version of the post 1956 Bullet frame. The Bullet engine will fit with modifications to the frame, but it's not straight forward.

What about the clipper frame, does anybody know if that is similar to the bullet frame. Thanks John for the prompt reply.

The 1956 only Clipper frame is the same dimensions as a bullet but is all welded with no lugs, even the steering head is a tubular fabrication. It has additionally a bracing tube like the 250. There is one on ebay now. Just to confuse matters there is a third frame (ie different to the 250s and Bullet/Twins) which was made for the 1958 only Meteor Minor and is halfway in size between them. It was fitted with the 250 toolbox and mudguards and has a unique seat subframe too. "Clipper" wasn't the name of a definite model, it tended to describe the budget version of a particular range so you could have a Crusader Clipper, a 350 Bullet Clipper, etc.
