Hi everyone.
I have a 1960 RE Crusader sport, which has given me no trouble what so ever, untill yesterday when i started it up in the morning and after about a 60sec there was oil coming out of the breather pipe on top of the motor, now i mean pumping out, 200Mill in about 30sec, i turned of the bike, topped up with oil to half way up the stick, started it up again and it did the same thing. is there anybody that's knows what could be causing this to happen.
Cheers
Patrick.

Sounds like a blocked breather or stuck flapper valve if the crusader has one.

Hi Patrick,
It sounds like your engine isn't scavenging properly. As it is a 'Sports', it might have a suction filter for this side of the lubrication system, but the primary cover has to come off to reach it. It will have a large hexagon cap on the bottom of it and it can be found just in front [forward] of the engine sprocket. Unscrew it and pull the plastic gauze filter out and check / clean it. Also check all the allen bolts fixing all the pipes and filter housing are tight, as any leaks at these joints will cause trouble. -- Paul.
