When I bought my 612 back it came with a couple of old MOTs and one of them had an advisory stating that the headstock bearings needed greasing, historic documentation also included an invoice from a garage stating that the work had been done. Since starting to ride it I have had to adjust the headstock bearings 4 times, for some reason they keep getting loose. I am following the correct procedure - loosen the bottom yoke bolts, tighten bearings and re tighten yoke bolts. Clearly the bearings should not keep comming loose even by a small amount as they have been - just enough to cause judder when you apply the front brake. Anyone any thoughts ?

Do you slacken the wedge when adjusting them?
