Could I fit the 18 inch wheels off Indian Enfield to my continental framed Trifield? do brake plates sprocket swap/fit etc

I think the only Indian Bullet with 18" wheels (not sure what size the Indian CGT uses) was the early C5 EFI model, that has a disk front brake and a 6" rear hub with a different spindle arrangement to the old Continental. Most Indian Bullets have 19" wheels.



Might be worth a nose around the on-line parts books as the exploded diagrams show the differences quite well.



It would perhaps be easier getting your 17" wheels rebuilt with 18" rims.

The rear wheel won't fit, the Indian models have wheels based on the heavyweight hub for the Redditch Bullet and Twin which is wider than that used on the 250 Crusader range. The chain is also a different size so you'd need to sort something out there as well.

IF the Indian Bullet swinging arm could be persuaded to fit the Continental frame you could use a 19" Indian Bullet back wheel, but it is not just a questions of "does this thing fit in there?" There would be all sorts of fun and games with swinging arm spindles, thrust washers and spacers to get the wheel and chain (5/8" x 3/8") to line up properly, as well as making sure that the top mounts for the shock absorbers in the frame weren't to close together or too far apart to line up with the swinging arm shock absorber mounts. I have been able to use Indian Bullet swinging arms successfully in **heavyweight** Redditch frames, but that's another story.



You could also use pre-2012 Indian Bullet front forks which would allow you to fit a 19" wheel with either a disk brake or twin leading shoe drum brake.
