Air filter

When l was checking my B5 euro4 bullet l found a small amount of oil in the air filter case just wondering how and why did it get there any thoughts on this cheers all

Some air filters can be cleaned and sprayed with dust-trapping oil, maybe yours is this type.

Doesn't the crankcase breather vent into the air filter housing on a modern bike?

As stinkwheel stated, the crankcase breather tube leads directly into the air filter box, follow the line from your RH cover and it will lead into the back of the air filter box. You might be a little over on oil or its a royal enfield so it likes blowing a little oil, nothing to worry about
