5 speed gearbox, left to right conversion?

I've acquired a 5 speed box to fit to my Bighead project bike one day. It is a left hooker and I want to change to right side change. I know I can buy the kit from our Hosts but I'd like to try it myself. (I'm sure my pal Bev will use his lathe skills if I ask nicely!) Has anyone done this and can point me to a 'how to' please? I have also acquired a one up camplate. Also, could someone explain the modified clutch lever (I know it relieves stress on the cable,) and how to recognise it? Thanks,

Also the modified clutch lever has a pivoting hasp riveted on. The gearbox nipple end of the cable isn't therefore subjected to the bending stresses of the old one.

Thanks Adrian, I knew I'd seen it here but I didn't read all the details related to the left to right conversion at the time as I wasn't contemplating doing it!

Hi Mark I did mine about 10 years ago, I cut the shaft off so that it was just through the seal in the inner case, then I worked out ho long I needed the shaft to protrude out of the outer case, cut the shaft to suit, put both pieces in my lathe so it was all nice and true then welded it. I then drilled through the outer cover and got a mate to set it up in his mill so I could fit a seal in it. Worked fine, never gave the slightest problem
