Hi, I have a 1951 G2 Bullet,
when replacing the head I noticed that the head stud washers are bigger than the holes in the head to place on the studs,
the washers came in the gasket kit that I bought through the host,

can anyone shed light on this problem,
regards Peter

If they're just slightly bigger, I wonder if this is intended to stop the distortion into threads of studs which can make future removal difficult, which is an often reported problem? I don't know, but it's just a thought.

Hi P,

not they are a few mm bigger, there is no way they would fit,

I looked at the 2.5mm washers that on here for sale so will get the width of them and see what the difference is

thanks Peter

There is a set of 5 cylinder head hardened washer from our hosts. These are not included in a gasket kit as far as I know. I wonder what washers you’ve found in your gasket kit. How many were there – were there the full 5 washers?

Rubber insert? They don't sound like cylinder head washers but more like they are for the external oil pipe banjo connectors on the cylinder head.

Those are the Dowty washers for the rocker oil feed pipe. You don't get the cylinder head washers in the gasket set, cos they're not gaskets but I suppose the Dowtys are! The correct cylinder head washers have a reduced diameter to fit in the holes. The ones used on Bullets and Twins are different from each other for some reason.
