Cylinder base nut

Can anyone confirm the thread used by the flanged nut on the cylinder base above the tappet inspection cover? Hosts diagram shows a 1/4" stud no thread specified, and the nut as M6. Must be one or the other. Thanks.

Hi, they have a habit of using bsf thread form with 6m hexagon. Stud is 1/4 cycle.

Not unusual but the parts book is a wee bit contradictory as to when the thread form changed?
Pre 2002 and up to eng number 2BS 5 12942 G the thread was imperial (BSF), and the nut was not flanged. Post 3B5 13709 the thread is metric.
Typically he metric nuts are flanged.

Thanks Tim. I have a flanged nut so must be Metric.
