The one that’s come out has an oil hole in it, corresponding to a matching hole in the kickstart spindle. New part doesn’t have the hole. It seems good practice to have the hole, any reason why there isn’t one in the part as supplied?

The driller of holes was probably away at prayers when the bush passed across his bench.

Ignore Leon, he thinks it's funny. Holes usually drilled after bush is fitted, it would be difficult to get the alignment right otherwise! REgards, Mark

Tap a suitable thread into the old bush and Draw Bolt out.

Hi Scotty, a lathe was involved! I made a tight fitting drift and used it with grease and the big hammer to drive out the bush. Not sure if this link will work https://www.instagram.com/p/BtMJpEWAl68 ... hr47dkhcrm
As that method has never worked for me before, I had intended to use a big tap but 5/8 BSW was the biggest I had to hand and that was too small.

Hi pict might give your brease trick a try got one of those cheapie 10 ton presseswhen the weather cools a bit39c in a metal garage a bit warm, also considering a suitable dynabolt to grip inside, depends how tight a fit it is in the hole, will let you all know or might just buy new one from india.

Try heating the case and stuffing some ice, dry ice, or even ice-cold water down the bush, somewhat similar to fitting them, where the bush is put in the refrigerator, and the case is put in the oven. If you are lucky, tappipg the case will cause the bush to fall out; if not, it`s a hacksaw or chisel slot, and chop it out.

It`s advisable, if working in a garage,to not let the customer watch as you chop it out.

Leon - "Heating the case" ? Wrong end of the layshaft.....o.p. and Scotty are referring to bush in K/start spindle.......
