I've got a lycette type saddle which has two lengths of upholstery spring under the cover, long and short ones. The short ones had almost all broken but I found a successful, much better replacement in the form of exhaust slip-joint springs supplied by Wassell.

Trouble is the long ones are starting to go now. You can buy full sets of springs from India but I was wondering if anyone had found a better source of sufficiently strong, 6.5" extension springs? Idealy less flimsy than the originals. They don't make exhaust springs that long although I could possibly hook two, 3" ones together.

I've had good service from Active Springs, call Bob on 01527 854932. I needed to replace some springs in an original Lycette saddle and they had them in stock.

I have used Alberta Springs for the manufacture of a variety of vintage and veteran springs. Very efficient and good value [email protected]
