Hi Guys,
I’ve just purchased a 2015 Continental GT. The previous owner removed the air box and fitted an open cone type air filter (not sure of the make as there are no markings). They also fitted an after market end can again I’m not sure the make? The bike is very loude but seems to be lacking top end & pops & bangs a little off throttle.
I asked the previous owner if the ECU had been re-mapped to adjust to these mods but he said he didn’t know as he hadn’t put the parts on??
So my question is about the ECU and if it’s supposed to be re-mapped to suit these changes & If I put the bike back to its standard settings with standard exhaust & filter set up is there a way to re-set the ECU ( put it back to standard map & settings).
I found the following procedure on line :
"Switch on both the ignition key and kill switch
wait, for 10 sec then completely open the throttle for
10 sec, then release the throttle, after 5 sec mil will
blink continuously for twice, reset completes. Then
switch off the ignition and switch the ignition key
wait for 3 sec then start the engine. (note during
reset procedure the engine should not be started,
only the ign. Key and kill switch is to be turned on.)"
Does anyone know if this is a valid way of doing this?
Advise and information on this would be really appreciated.
Thanks
