Hi there!
I ride a Bullet 1951 and have a little problem.
When the bike is Colt, no problem. But after let say 12 km the clutch is beginming to slip.
First a bit. But after 20 km more. (In 3, and 4 gear).
The nexst day it starts all over again.
The clutch plates looks good to me.
What van I do. Buy new plates or....?

I would start by fitting new plates. I have found that it takes what seems like very little measurable wear before the plates start to slip. And use ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid) in the chaincase. Get Type F if you can.

Just a quick thought; does the clutch cable have a tiny bit of slack, so it isn't slightly pulling it all the time?

The cable free play is there! That's niet the problem. But thanks anyway.


Type of the oil is maybe the problem. I use sae 50.
I try thinner oil as you say! Thanks.

Does it have the 6 springs or have you only got 3? I had a 51 and it was sold to me without the additional spring mounting that hold the additional three springs.

The cable adjuster adjusts the cable, the clutch adjuster adjusts the clutch.

You can have a lot of cable slack but the clutch will still slip if the clutch adjuster has none.
