I have oil coming from the bushing on the sprocket main drive shaft (oil showing up on the sprocket). Is the felt that's on the inside of the sprocket nut the only defense against oil leaking from this shaft?

OK.... I get the Old Bike and Technology position... and I should expect leaks. I guess the oil seal the factory engineered is just a "Hail Mary" suggestion... I'll keep a piece of cardboard under it like I do with my 356C until I can come up with a fix. No more feedback is necessary.
