[ Amal Monoblock on an 350 AVL ]

After Haveing a Play around with the Bike, Correct Plug Fitted, Lightly Baffled Exhurst fitted, And light Adjustment On the Carb... She Now starts 1st kick..ticks over Firm and slow,Warms up Ok, And Pulls Nice up to about 60 on the Speedo ( so say 55mph)..

But then Hits a Brick wall! a Quick Play with the Air Leaver Gains about 10mph! but thats it.... She will Cruse Happy 65 mph (indicated) But any Incline Pulls her back to 55mph)

So up to 55 Fine Over Erh? "Give Us A Clue".... Thanks

Now The daft Question... Air Leaver/Choke.. If Leaver is Pulled Towards You under full Tension is the air Passage Fully OPEN or Shut......

Thanks for any replies

Cheers Craig (Might Not bin the Mono Block yet..Depends on MPG and Tweaking Now).. ;0)

Sounds like the needle needs lifting one notch. Either that or you need to increase the size of the main jet. At that sort of speed I'd expect you to be operating on the main jet but as the needle is easy and free to adjust I'd try that first.
Good luck S:)

Craig, if the lever is towards you under full tension the slide is OPEN. It should only be closed when you initially kick start the bike, rest of the time open. Don't forget to close it again when you're putting the bike away.

Thank You !
