Hello all. Thanks for your advice on my last post about the broken sprocket teeth. I had the chain and both sprockets replaced yesterday but the motorcycle mechanic told me he topped up the oil with 10w40 instead of the manufactures recommendation of 15w50. Is this going to be an issue?

Ha ha! John, you may (or may not) know that 'which oil' threads are the most numerous and tedious threads on this and many other sites. As you are a newbie it is forgivable but from now on, £1 in the oil pot every time! Seriously, a 'top-up' of a very similar oil won't do any harm. How's the bike going?

Mark M the bike is running well thanks for asking. Sorry about the oil questions. I will review older threads before posting any further questions.

Good news, now get out and enjoy it! These are good simple machines capable of excellent service with sensible maintenance. I'm sure there will be more questions in time, but you've broken your duck now so ask away... :)
