Hi Craig,
I think the Monobloc carbs are among the best you can use on a Bullet, they give a wide range of settings with the various jets, slides etc and have five needle grooves to help with fine tuning. Conversely, all of these can cause their own problems if the settings are incorrect. The Micarb is a good, simple carb and easy to work on and maintain, but a bit small if you want the best performance from your machine.

Ah "Thanks Ho bullet Master".......
What I am After is a Reliable Day to Day Bike (Like My VM24 Carb equipped 1999 350 Std,Iron head )only a Tad faster & Better MPG.... An AK47 Not an M16 "If Ya Know what I Mean?".....
Q: Will a VM24 work ok on a 350 AVL or Back to Origanal CV Carb?.... Thanks for you in Put !...Cheers Craig

imho the monoblock is a nice luxury although a mikcarb can equally be tuned if desired but the monoblok has the bling factor and looks period atb g12

Any performance gain from the Monobloc is due to its larger choke area. This gain is only manifested at high revs and large throttle openings which may be something you don't want to do too often. The smaller Micarb will allow faster gas speed, better atomisation and much of the time better performance. I would say the Monobloc is a complete waste of money unless you were using the upper reaches of the engines performance habitually (there are better carbs for that job too)and with a standard bottom end disaster is the likely result.

For the record, the Monobloc carbs were made in three body sizes - 375, 376 and 389. The smallest 375 was 7/8" choke diameter, smaller than the VM24 Micarb. The three sizes overlapped each other on choke size and the biggest was a 389 in a 1 3/16" choke size. Choose the right one and you will see an all round improvement in performance, as well as having the 'bling factor' if that's your thing. The only downside with the Monoblocs is they never made bigger ones. Best modern carb for me would be the Amal MK II, but each to their own.

No difference at all performance wise if size of each is equivalent. Full bore = One hole....one needle that restricts air flow...as long as mixture strength is set correctly (main jet)= no difference....main differences......Cold start....Amal= choke slide that restricts air....Micarb= opens extra starting jet....Float bowl....Monobloc= on one side.....Micarb= concentric (same as Amal Concentric) Fitting.....Amal= flange O ring= Solid secure....Micarb= Rubber sleeve...can blow off & can be difficult to match to inlet tract..... Wear rate......Amal= zinc slide (now make brass at extra cost)...Micarb=brass....Looks.....you choose...(most prefer Amal)......Reliability....Amal=leaks etc.....Micarb= Excellent no leaks...... VFM= Micarb....Winner= Micarb.
