I bought one but due to the lack of instructions of where to mount it and a wiring diagram currently I am too scared to attempt fitting it.

Bumpkin,
what year is your Electra-X? If yours is a later one the importers fitted a modified TCI unit which did away with the need for a separate spark delay. This later unit is green rather than black as on the early version. If you have the green type fitted you won't need this.
If you have the earlier black type, it depends on whether your Electra-X still has the electric start fitted, quite a few no longer have it. For kick-start only bikes, there is no need to delay the spark, as this was for the benefit of the sprag clutch in the E/S starter mechanism. If however you have the older black TCI box and you still use the E/S, I'd get one.
papasmurf, perhaps you should ask our hosts?

Adrian, I will ask the expert in electrickery who live near me who looks like a cross between Chewbacca and Catweazel when he is free.
(He is currently getting an old trike roadworthy and ready for MOT.)

Adrian, well yesterday he looked very embarrassed he managed to "park" his trike on top of a wall. ( I keep telling him to move the battery to under the headstock to put some weight on the front end.)
