Can anyone tell me how to assemble the HT lead to the NGK spark plug cap and the coil end.On removing coil end I was left with a bare cable and v type clip.looking in the entrance of the NGK spark cap all I see is the tip of a screw.

The NGK plug caps have a screw in the centre, cut the HT lead square and screw it into the cap until firm resistance is felt, don't overtighten it! Also remember to fit the rubber boot on the cable first. This will grip the cable tightly, I use a little spray of silicon lubricant to ease it. The coil end, carefully re-use the clip, it has 2 tangs which cut through the sides of the HT lead and bite into the copper (or carbon) core and the tip of the V contacts the centre pole of the coil. Use a continuity tester (meter set to Ohms will do,) to make sure it has actually penetrated the core.

Thanks Mark.I will need to order the clip as the one on it was mangled and sort of twisted around the exposed cable.

You may find it difficult to get the clip on it's own. Here is a similar type:
http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.eu/p ... l-straight from Vehicle Wiring Products. In this case you bare the copper cable core and trap it under the clip, crimping it in place. The size of receptacle on the coils does vary from maker to maker so you might need to do a bit of surgery to get it to fit. You're aiming for a tight spring fit, then seal the cable entry with silicone sealant.

Alan r this website is under construction.Elsewhere I have seen the HT lead as a complete assy and shows the coil end with a connector on it but the description only states HT lead with spark plug cap.

Hi, have a look at our hosts accessory section, part number140439 which shows that the clips to push fit a HT lead into the coil are available from Hitchcocks.

The clip sent out to me part 140439 looks nothing like hosts pic.It is a v shape clip with a screw thru the middle.Screws into HT cable end to fit into coil.I broke the screw away from the body on the two I ordered.Fragile tiny and flimsy. Was able to solder together and fit.Nice blue spark now with engine running smoothly.Couldnt upload pics from tiny pics will try later.
