Hello again, Enfield fans----- Here's another request. Do any of you have experience/knowledge of using the CV type Carb. from an Electra on a 500 Classic Bullet ?? I've got a "Delivery miles only " one and would like a change from the Mikcarb. Any help appreciated. I know it's not the Norm (Sorrry, mate) but need a bit of a challenge--- other than trying to contact the DVLA that is !!!  Cheers.

 Hi Alan,

I remember checking this out some time ago and from memory the carby will fit straight on . I can't see any problems and I also have one with delivery miles on it as well. I fited an Amal and it is still going strong. I've now done 6000ks on my crossbred motor so it is time for a piston chance as I only fitted the standard OEM piston.

Hello matey and thanks for that swift reply. Yes, it does look to be fairly straightforward. I'll be making a slightly curved manifold just to get a pancake / paper type filter on----about 2" long approx. I bought this 2005 Classic 500 last Autumn from a local dealer with all of Mr H's  bolt-on goodies fitted---including a disc brake,Goldie silencer, solo saddle and more----- for £1,750. The only thing that the previous 2 owners had not fitted during it's 6,000 miles was ---------------- proper jetting in the Mikcarb. Boy, was it running weak. In fact so week it was almost a fortnight (sorry---old joke ). So, head off and check the piston. Yep, REALLY scorched so an 8.5 forged one and, just to soften the effect, a (De-?) compression plate fitted. Just need to run it in now. Have been re-watching Burt Muroe and his "Fastest Indian" on DVD last night---just to get a  much-needed BOOST out there in the cold workshop. Anyone need their pistons re-cast ???  Here's a thought--------------The Americans have left a car on the moon. How long before India gets a Enfield up there ?? Come on you specialist guys--- a battery powered Bullet please ??

Well, my gahst is properly flabbered !!! It was only meant to be a throw-away remark, said in fun! Just goes to show there's nothing new in the world of "creative engineering." Nice-one, DanFord(Sussex). I did enjoy that. Come on then Hitchcocks, how about some "Extra-strong Selenium" batteries, compound-wound motors and "Volt-booster" packs ??? And my next challenge is }-------------- a steam powered Bullet ??  But what's this to do with the main heading ?? I hear you all say. Nothing, but it's good fun, don't you think ??

Hi Alan, just google 'steam powered motorcycles' More than you can shake a stick at. Wonder what Carol Nash would make of that. Is it modified? err um.
