Hello Peeps,
Does anyone know if a "Bolt On" side stand is available for my 1962 Crusader Sports.

I seem to remember this question was asked a while back and the poster discovered one of the after market Bullet stands supplied by our Hosts could be made to fit? Try contacting Hitchcocks direct, they are good at his kind of question. And tell us all the answer as I have a Crusader project on the go and I'd like one too!

Mark, that might have been me. I did make an aftermarket Bullet sidestand fit, it just required a bit of ‘light fettling’. From memory this involved shortening the tube welded into the fixed piece, and bending the extension of the fixed piece to suit the Crusader frame. Worked fine!

This is what I have fitted to a Crusader and it is a simple clamp on side stand that goes around the frame rail.

That would do it but just be warned, the clamp on these stands needs to be pinned or tack welded into place to stop it rotating round the frame tube when in use. I well remember my newly purchased A10 crashing to the ground just too far away to catch when this happened to me!

I have seen the Bullet side stand part number 92508 on a Crusader and it looked and worked fine, from memory you have to make a couple of changes but its very possible and a good solid stand.
