Fitting sidestand to 4speed

Having just acquired a sidestand for my 2007 350 single r/h gearshift from Hitchcocks I am just a little puzzled by lack of guidance, fasteners, spacers etc. Am I correct in assuming the front plate fitting sits over the front left footrest in place of the spacer tube that covers the hex bar?.... Or does this tube require cutting down in length. Any advice appreciated.

Jon, Any help? It's my year 2000 Bullet 500. If it isn't clear from this, maybe the picture will help someone else to describe it better. It might, of course, be a completely different sidestand anyway! (This is taken with the bike actually on the centre stand.)
I'm guessing you have a sidecar, too. A lot of people asked me why I have a centre-stand on my other Bullet, a sidecar tug. Well, it's useful for parking on hills. But a sidestand??????

I bought a side stand off ebay a while back. I never did figure out how to fit it, despite it being stamped "RE Bullet". Serves me right for being a cheapskate.

I think that there are many different types of side stands all "purposely" made to fit. I had to make up a short new bracket to bridge a one inch gap - could not do it with extra washers.

Chris from your photo it does look like your side stand fits between the centre stand bolt and the hex footrest fitting. The sidestand is not on a sidecar....the RE is a solo. My sidecar is a Watsonian Manx attached to a BMW K75. If the sidestand fits as mentioned I'll need to contact Hitchcocks regarding shorter spacers for the hex and a longer bolt on the centre stand.
Cheers Jon

Same chair as mine. Love it! Good luck, Chris
