1/4BSP thread tap will fit. Sure it isn't a crack in the tank on the rear mount?

Taper, i had this happen back in the 50s, i had lent my mate my old heap of an AJS he came back and told me it had caught fire, yippee, i was insured for fire but then he gave me the bad news, it had happened right outside of Bill Camiers motor cycle shop in Ashford and he had run out and put it out and he had taken it in for repair.

the saga continues,I have managed to cure the petrol leak on my 1965 bullet,I striped the petrol tap down (it is a brass tap)and ground in the seat using a chrome polish paste and up to now the leak has ceased fingers crossed.
