I wonder is there a club for those of us unlucky enough to have a sprag clutch explode. A loyal band of brothers in adversity. Maybe a badge of dishonour with an appropriate depiction of disintegration, or even a black arm band. Yes it has happened to me after many years of RE (Built Like a Gnu) ownership. I know, I know, my fault for trying to start on a feeble battery. Hey,ho, please learn from my mistake.

Hello Papasmurf------Well I'm not particularly a "Folk" person but that had me in tears I don't mind telling you ( Goes with the age thing I suppose ??)......and then by following some of the links I found the Wikipedia history of Jay and Molly ( what wonderful people ) and then I listened to The Royal Marines Band version.........So that was my Sunday morning sorted !!...........I could see a soloist Bagpiper playing that at the Cenotaph on Remembrance Day perhaps ??

My offering is slightly different as it's aimed at the owner of a failed sprag, so Beamish--- and all the other unfortunates in this situation, here's The Walker Brothers}-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'll suggest "Shake, Rattle and Roll" which seems to cover the description folk give of sprag failure!

Music to be played when you give up and bury the Enfield in your back garden

A tearful thank you one and all for your moving expressions of sympathy. I visited the patient today on the ward where they have the dubious pleasure of examining her innards. All very sad. The next thing is to work out how I can jump on the "crowd funding" band wagon to meet the surgeon's fees!
