Got a wee problem reconnecting the alternator... Yes I know I should have noted the colours..... But anyway... Two purple one yellow and one green from the wiring loom.... One yellow one green one black and one red from the alternator.. Help please..

The two Violet go to the Red and the Black. (Reg Rectifier DC supply to battery) Either way around.
The Yellow and the Amber are the AC head light. Yellow is the power feed to the AC head light, Amber is the earth for the AC head light

If you haven't already reassembled everything, have a look at the frame earth which is a ring terminal trapped behind the battery bracket mounting. Seems it is the season for de-yacking electrics. I did mine yesterday and the frame earth was so horribly corroded. I'm amazed it was working at all.
