OK, here's a tricky one (perhaps sacrilege to some). If i were to fit a Mikuni carby to my 1936 Model K (976 V twin) how would I determine the right jets and slide especially if I wanted to fit and airfilter?
Any ideas welcome,tx

One method might be to find an engine of roughly equivalent capacity and type that uses a Mikuni and take that jetting etc as a starting point for experimenting - an element of trial and error will in any case be necessary.

I'll stick my neck out and suggest that these settings may be not so far out: main jet 195 - 200; needle jet Q2; pilot jet 35; slide 2.

Hi Dave------ if you look at a 500 single cylinder setting, then multiply bu 20% to allow for the "Twin-factor" and any induction overlap then for a 500 Bullet, using our hosts suggested sizes you get}--- Main = 150,..... Needle = P4, ....... Pilot = 36, ..... slide = 2.5....... so somewhat similar to Presto's figures...The main thing is to keep erring on the rich side to start off with
There must be a conversion chart printed somewhere ??

Thanks Alan - I was erring on the rich side in all settings. Of course certain references will depend on exactly which type of Mikuni will be fitted. Couldn't find any Mikuni application tables - and certainly no cross references to Amal or other carbs.
