Push some thin piping over the keys that you don't use that often (fuel, toolbox) It stops them damaging the chrome/paintwork as they bounce around.

I have an older bullet with the ignition switch in the toolbox. For a couple of quid off the EBay you can get really strong neodymium magnets. I have a couple stuck under my switch and my keys stick and don't rattle. The keys themselves arent magnetic but the rings and my alarm fob are. These magnets are great fun and there must be a million uses though I can only think of a few. I have some on my drain plugs, cheap easy magnetic drain plugs to trap swarf. I have a movement alarm purchased from said site which is pretty handy. Where I park often I get tourists who seem to think its ok to touch my bike for their boring photographs. I got bored of getting cross with them, now I just hit the alarm and they take their hands off damn quick. People are so ignorant and rude these days, all they think about is "won't this look great on facebook". Strange because it's everyone no matter where in the world their from, all have been infected with the Mememe facebook virus. Tara

Good tip, however with an EFI, one key fits all, but I do have to protect two other keys for the scooter Cheers Trevorch

On a similar vein. When you lock up the bike with a padlock/chain/disclock (yeah, ok, not on an Enfield). Take the tube off the lock key and put it on the ignition key, remove it when you unlock it again... Then if you try to start the bike, you'll find there is a bit of rubber tube over the ignition key and remember to remove the lock.

I just have a knackered ignition switch. I use a key to turn it on (any key, csrewdriver, lollyt stick), the put the key in my pocket to ride away.
