Help,fitted a new tyre this evening and think I pinched the tube.
New flat,need the bike tomorrow,what can I use to get me on the road

Sorry, but I think you're stuffed unless you've got a puncture repair kit and even that may not work on the split which is normally caused when you trap the tube like you've done. Best avoid patched tubes anyway except in an emergency. If you're stuck in the middle of nowhere there are things you could do like stuffing the tyre with grass as a get you home (or to safety measure) but not practical to start a ride like that. If there's a Halfords nearby you might just have time to buy a puncture outfit before they close.

Hi JENKS-------- not so long ago I had a recurring puncture outside the main entrance door to The Raven Cafe at Prees Heath, Whitchurch........I always carry a small bottle of either SLIME ( https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Slime-Bike-T ... g:DOMAAOSw )----- or GOOP ( http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GOOP-500ml-MO ... id=8632593 ) plus a mini air pump so was able to "Repair" the puncture and had a great day's riding 2-up with 'er indoors ......It does exactly what it says on the label...

Most big 24h supermarkets sell bicycle puncture repair kits.



Most filling stations and big 24h supermarkets sell cans of tyre weld foam. It's nasty though and you need to ride on it to make it seal, don't just sit and look at it coming out of the holes.



Trouble with foam or any sort of puncture slime will be your bead isn't seated. SO a puncture repair kit is the best bet.

You got a mountain bike? I bet you could put two MTB tubes in a bullet wheel and that would get enough air in it to be rideable. Trouble would be you'd need to drill a second valve hole. Fitting two tubes and putting half the air in each is an old couriers trick so your tyre only goes down halfway with a puncture

SLIME and GOOP are not foam but utilise 1,000's of tiny chopped rubber particles held in a solution.....They work in a similar way to your blood clotting to seal a wound...The "platelets" form a sort of log-jam in the hole and thus seal it........One of them claims to be able to seal a hole up to 1/4" dia. This doesn't compromise your bead integrity in any way.....

As I said previously it sealed my puncture and we ( Joyce and myself ) enjoyed the rest of the day's ride out to Jodrell Bank telescope with no probs. at all..........It does exactly what it says on the tin !!

I've never had much success with the liquid stuff in tubed tyres, but it does work well in tubeless. I used to use it regularly whenever I fitted new tyres, although I've stopped now because of the corrosion it was causing to the inside of the rims. However, well worth trying in an emergency

I’ve never had much luck with it in tubed tyres either, though it has worked for me in tubeless ones. No need to ride the bike, just put it on the mainstand and start the engine. The wheel will often rotate in neutral, but if it doesn’ t just let it tickover in gear. It won’t say this on the bottle but it’s usually for cars on which it is impractical to raise the rear wheels at the roadside. Problem either solved or not by now but just saying.
