Gentlemen, I have been picking my way through our hosts suggested performance upgrades on my 2008 500 Electra, ie stage 1.plus TCI unit and am now considering making timing adjustments with replacement Woodruff keys. Do I need any other specialist tools apart from the Magneto puller to accomplish this?

Just a magneto puller should be fine. I found the small handle attached to the puller provided insufficient leverage to release the rotor, so you may have to use a larger spanner or adjustable on it instead. Once removed the Woodruff key can be prised out. Since you can't run the engine with the primary cover removed or see any timing marks with it replaced you may have to resort to trial and error in finding which key provides better running. Some people have modified the primary cover to allow the timing marks to be seen ( in which case you will need a strobe light) and they may be able to say how it was done.

Thanks Frank, for confirming that, I gathered it would be a case of trial and error eventually.
