Hi All

The 53 Meteor has a combined LUCAS distributor / dyno set up.

Can anybody tell me what LUCAS model the Dyno is?

E3L,E3LM or E3N

I am considering swapping it for a 12v Alton Generator!

The 53 is fitted with a C35SD/O special dynamo. These are hard to find and I don't think Alton do one to replace this? Later models have a Magdyno. This information is from the Online Parts Books on this site. I suggest you look there to confirm what you have.

Hi Mark

Yes it is a C35/SD.

I wonder if BTH do a Mag/Dyno that will take the place of the Dizzy/Dyno.

I wanted to convert to e.i but nobody seems to do a kit that fits the LUCAS DKX2A Distributor

Cheers

I think you should ask BTH?

Tom,

BT-H can supply the very thing, though it is NOT cheap!

Twin cylinder magdyno bottom half, £730 + VAT

http://www.bt-h.biz/md2r---magdyno-twin ... o-18-p.asp

The Alton generator to go with it is another £350 + VAT

Much as I love the BT-H mag on my AVL/Redditch hybrid, I realise that £1300 is a fair bit of loot to shell out, enough to send you back onto the quest for an original distributor/dynamo set-up? How much do you love this bike? ;)

Why didn't you say what you wanted to do in the first place! There is another option, the DKX2 distributor can be rebuilt to be as good as new by the Distributor Doctor. He does very good work and is a helpful chap as well. He helped me get my DKX2 powered 53 Meteor into the best running order in all the time I had it. (And then I sold it but only for another Enfield) It might be the cheapest option by a long way.
