On my 1999 4 speed Enfield 500cc the kick start return spring has jumped out of the little hole in the kickstart shaft. When I put it back in it doesn't seem to stay in the hole very well, I'm wondering if a bit might have snapped of the end?
There is about 5mm of length that goes into the hole, does that sound about right and it's a common problem that is jumps out? The bend is not far of 90deg is that okay? if it was more acute it might grip the hole better?

A piece will have snapped off, it will not jump out normally. I've had a couple snap in different places, just order a new one :-)

I've just ordered a new one as they're not expensive, and I'll see if it's any different
